The Game

This is the official game animation for the 2019 FIRST Robotics Competition game, DESTINATION DEEP SPACE. The game was announced Saturday, January 5, 2019. For more information, visit http://www.firstinspires.org/frc. Special thanks to https://www.automationdirect.com for creating this year's animation.

FIRST Destination: Deep Space is played by two competing alliances on a  8 ft. 9¾ inch by 23 ft. 1½ inch flat field. Each Alliance consists of three robots, competing to place poly-carbonate hatch panels and orange rubber balls or "cargo" on rockets and cargo ships before returning to their HAB platform to climb at the end of the match.

At the end of the game the Alliance with the most points wins. Winning a match in a game gives each team in the Alliance two ranking points. Additionally an alliance can earn a ranking point during the qualification rounds by accumulating a total of 15 points at the end of the match through climbing the HAB. An alliance can also earn a ranking point by completing one rocket, which entails scoring two hatch panels and two pieces of cargo on each of its three levels. A foul will result in 3 points being credited to the opposing alliance, and a technical foul will result in 10 points being credited to the opposing alliance.
